As Director of Human Resources of Georgia Biomass, Paul Porterfield is responsible for the implementation and management of the organization’s HR management programs; including compensation & rewards systems, audit ready policies and procedures, employee engagement, benefit design and administration, performance management, compliance and payroll.
Prior to joining Georgia Biomass, Paul was a Human Resource Business Partner for the HR consulting group Resource Alliance in Alpharetta, Georgia. In this role, Paul was assigned as the Director of Human Resources for Cardinal Group Management out of Denver, Colorado. This large property management group specialized in student housing and Paul oversaw the continued development of this client through policy development, employee engagement and compliance. Prior to his assignment with Cardinal Group, Paul was the Director of Human Resources for both Tribridge Residential and RAM Partners, LLC in Atlanta. These clients were traditional housing property management groups with properties throughout the U.S.
Prior to Resource Alliance, Paul held positions with Midwest Medical, a medical device company headquartered in Atlanta as the Director of Human Resources and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce as Director of Human Resources. Paul has also participated in several consulting roles, specifically with a popular restaurant group in Georgia and the Carolinas known as Taco Mac.
Paul began his career in human resources and payroll with Simmons Bedding Company in Atlanta, but he took a leap of faith after 5 years in the corporate office and joined the sales team in Jacksonville, Florida where he maintained a territory of south Georgia and north Florida.
Paul attended Kennesaw State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management. He is an Atlanta native and enjoys the beach, spending time with his children and exploring the low country.
